The X-SendFile binary file handler uses the X-SendFile HTTP header to instruct the web server to send a file from the file system.

Installation
Use a web server that supports the X-SendFile header out of the box, or use an extension to your webserver that implements it.
Download and enable the xsendfilehandler extension, and instruct eZ Publish to use the X-SendFile binary file handler by adjusting settings/override/file.ini.append.php:
