Friday 26 June 2009 11:48:36 pm - Copy the update site url on the eZcliipse project page
- Go to Help > Install new software - Click add, give the update site a name and paste the url - Uncheck the "Group items by category" checkbox - Now the eZclipse plugin shows up in the list. Select it by checking the box and go on with install. Olivier Clavel - Kaliop Interactive Media |

Sunday 28 June 2009 5:30:41 am Hello Bana,
I did a little documentation here : http://ezclipse.wiki.sourceforge.net/install I developed and tested this plug-in on Eclipse Ganymede. So there's no guarantee to work on Galileo ! http://www.wess.ch |

Wednesday 15 July 2009 7:00:56 am Hello Guillaume,
I want to precise that the plug-in is actually in an alpha version ;-) I'm working on the autocompletion and this feature should come in the next few months. I also planned to implement an integrated help for the template operators... http://www.wess.ch |

Thursday 30 July 2009 12:53:16 pm Hello,
On Mac recently, I can't install the plugins on Eclipse PDT Cocoa Mac version. I simply add the. Jar in the plugins directory and restart Eclipse ( that I did with the Windows version). But in the preferences, I don't see the plugins ezclipse. Do you have any ideas? Thanks ++ -- |

Wednesday 05 August 2009 12:11:41 am Hi
I couldn't find any reference to eZClipse in the Eclipse log file... I install it via the update site, and then I cannot find any of eZClipse features in Eclipse. Is there something to do to "activate" eZ Publish support with eZClipse ? Besides, the wiki page (http://ezclipse.wiki.sourceforge.net/install) doesn't work any more :(. I'm redirected to this page : http://sourceforge.net/projects/ezclipse/develop Thanks ! My Blog (french) : http://www.lolart.net |

Wednesday 05 August 2009 1:38:43 am Sorry for the broken help link :( Sourceforge changed their structure and I can't find my wiki pages...
Can you please check that eZclipse files are correctly installed ? If you installed the plugin with the update manager you should have the following files/folders in your Eclipse folder : - eclipse/features/ch.wess.ezclipse_1.0.0/feature.xml - eclipse/features/ch.wess.ezclipse_1.0.0/META-INF/MANIFEST.MF - eclipse/plugins/ch.wess.ezclipse.communcation_1.0.0.jar - eclipse/plugins/ch.wess.ezclipse.core_1.0.0.jar - eclipse/plugins/ch.wess.ezclipse.ini_1.0.0.jar - eclipse/plugins/ch.wess.ezclipse.tpl_1.0.0.jar - eclipse/plugins/ch.wess.ezclipse.varbrowser_1.0.0.jar http://www.wess.ch |

Friday 14 August 2009 12:16:16 am Hi Alain,
Yesterday i installed your ezclipse extension on ez4.0.1 and eclipse gallileo (pdt) on fedora 11. I had some troubles to get it to work. 1. if you are in the eclipse php projekt explorer from (pdt) and go right mousclick on ezproject => no entry for SOAP settings is available, but if you do the same from the standard eclipse projekt repository it works :-) 2. The standard colors of your tpl editor are 'to much', if you want you can use my eclipse tpl editor, already integrated in the smile extension (http://ez.no/developer/contribs/3...lipse_plugin_jac_ez_template_editor) 3. the node browser works, after setting the node_id when do right mouse click on a tpl file ( i like this kind of browsing ) 4. the tpl parser did not work correctly, eclipse validates the tpl file and send the validation request over soap, and soap answer correctly but no error is shown in the error view of eclipse => the tpl parsing works in the smile extension (http://ez.no/developer/contribs/3...rty/smile_ez_publish_eclipse_plugin) Can you do some more screenshots e.g. tpl parser .... and put it in the gallery? It will be good for all testers. .... And now i have some ideas for this project. 1. I /we could help you with developing ( i am not a big java programmer, but i am fit in ez , and i could patch e.g. the templateparser so it gives better results for eclipse and hopefully we get this into the ez kernel ) 2. when we work together, i would focus to develop an ez tool that can handle an ez installation with several different ez projects ( or siteaccesses ). We for example are using 1 ez installation with at the moment over 50 different ez projekts (dbs). So we need a smart projekt switch in eclipse. The only way i see is to do that by switching the siteaccess. My ideas for setting up the extension would be: - eclipse project, define an ez server url, this is only use for tpl parsing, and the request for all active siteaccesses on this ezinstallation - then we have an eclipse view simelar to the nodeview browser, here we can choose the siteaccess we want to connect, after connect we can do node querys, get ini's, get contentclass definitions, clear the cache ... i have a lot of ideas And another thing is why using soap? I think this development extension have to be easy to install, but to setting up soap for a multi project ez installation is not possible without an ez patch at the moment. An other disadvantage is debugging of soap is more difficulty. I think we can do all the requests over the normal ez way like the smile extension will do. The advantage is better debugging, we can use this function for export xml ( e.g. class definitions) or reuse the function for a new ez debug extension ( in admin interface ) And of course we should be work on improving the tpl editor. I tried a little bit with code completion but it is not so easy. I know that some german ez partner are interested to have a better eclipse integration and may be spend some money. What you are think about that? A lot of greetings from Stralsund ( North Germany ) Felix Woldt http://www.jac-systeme.de - Developers united in eZ Publish: http://www.cjw-network.com |

Friday 14 August 2009 12:44:34 am Hi Felix,
First of all, thanks for the feedback ;-) Before I started to develop this plug-in I taked a look to the smile and JAC plugins. But I found that the general structure of the plug-in wasn't good enough and this is the reason I started a new TPL editor. Actually I'm working on the autocompletion with integrated help that comes from the reference documentation... It shoud work soon :D 1. if you are in the eclipse php projekt explorer from (pdt) and go right mousclick on ezproject => no entry for SOAP settings is available, but if you do the same from the standard eclipse projekt repository it works :-) I know this problem, but I haven't found a solution for the moment. Actually I always create a "normal" project. 2. The standard colors of your tpl editor are 'to much', if you want you can use my eclipse tpl editor, already integrated in the smile extension (http://ez.no/developer/contribs/3...lipse_plugin_jac_ez_template_editor) All colors can be customized from the preferences window, so you can choose your own colors ;-) 3. the node browser works, after setting the node_id when do right mouse click on a tpl file ( i like this kind of browsing ) This feature have to be improved ! Because actually I only show nodes but sometimes theres templates which becomes an object. The main idea I had was to list all the available variables but I don't found a solution on the eZ side to do this :( 4. the tpl parser did not work correctly, eclipse validates the tpl file and send the validation request over soap, and soap answer correctly but no error is shown in the error view of eclipse => the tpl parsing works in the smile extension (http://ez.no/developer/contribs/3...rty/smile_ez_publish_eclipse_plugin) The eZ Parser is definitly not a good parser ! I think the best thing to do is to develop a Java parser which is able to detect more errors. This solution should be faster and more powerful. 1. I /we could help you with developing ( i am not a big java programmer, but i am fit in ez , and i could patch e.g. the templateparser so it gives better results for eclipse and hopefully we get this into the ez kernel ) Good idea :D I have good skills in Eclipse development and I think we could really create a good IDE for eZ Publish. 2. when we work together, i would focus to develop an ez tool that can handle an ez installation with several different ez projects ( or siteaccesses ). We for example are using 1 ez installation with at the moment over 50 different ez projekts (dbs). So we need a smart projekt switch in eclipse. The only way i see is to do that by switching the siteaccess. Ok but the problem is that we should create the plug-in as generic as possible. The IDE should not impose a project structure. For example in my company we are not working in this way ;-) - then we have an eclipse view simelar to the nodeview browser, here we can choose the siteaccess we want to connect, after connect we can do node querys, get ini's, get contentclass definitions, clear the cache ... i have a lot of ideas I have a lot ideas too ;-) Maybe we should create a post with a list of it. What you are think about that? I think we should work together to create the best plugin on the world ;-) I'm happy if we can work together to develop a really good Eclipse plugin that offers some nice stuff. But I haven't any experience in open source project management. Thus I dont' know what is the best way to work together. PS: I speak better german than english ;-) http://www.wess.ch |

Friday 14 August 2009 2:12:03 am Cool that you can develop good eclipse plugins :-)
I am looking forward to work with you together :-) ... The tpl variable browser problem. The problem is, that every tpl for a complete ez site has other variables (namespaces). May be i have a solution. We can write a new ez operator which works like a breakpoint in tpls. This operator serialize the $tpl data to the filesystem. For every pagerequest we need a unique id we can put to the output of ez. With this debug id we can connect ez (over soap ...) and unserialize the data and do var browsing :-) This var browser should be good for a new firefoxextension ;-). In Eclipse we have the problem to get this unique id for the request. This are some ideas ... Tuesday 27 October 2009 7:53:30 am Where can I find documentation? The link does not work.
Can I get help for ezclipse configuration? I copied ezclipse to extension folder and activated it in admin panel. In the file settings/override/soap.ini.append.php, I added an entry [GeneralSettings] EnableSOAP = true and [ExtensionSettings] SOAPExtensions [] = ezclipse. Unfortunately, after entering in the ez publish soap url: localhost /ezpublish /soap.php/[usersite]/ezclipse or localhost/ezpublish/soap.php/[adminsite]/ezclipse I get an error: "Invalid URL" How to activate ezclipse for eclipse? What is the correct SOAP url? I know it was described in "little documentation" but is no longer available from the URL. Thank in advance for helping. |
