What is the BC Google Sitemapsextension?

BC Google Sitemapsis a true eZ Publish extension
that provides cronjob parts, amd class methods
to create an XML sitemap of an eZ Publish
website installation for the Google webmaster tools
and other services using a cronjob.

Requirements

The following requirements exists for using BC Google Sitemaps extension:

o eZ Publish version:

Make sure you use eZ Publish version 5.x (required) or higher. eZ Publish 5.3.x+ (Community Build, 2014.07+) is recommended.

o PHP version:

Make sure you have PHP 5.x or higher.

o Google webmaster tools:

You will require a google webmaster tools account to register the sitemap with Google.

Installation of cronjob based static sitemap generator

• Install and activate the extension
• Test the extension via command line
• Set up the crontab to run the cronjob automatically
• Verify the sitemap was generated correctly
• Add sitemap file to your mod_rewrite rules: RewriteRule ^/sitemap.xml - [L]
• Add the site map using the Google Webmaster tools
